It’s true. Well, almost. I haven’t worked every job, though my resume (if I had one) would read like I’d selected ‘All’ on a job application website. Here are some off the top of my head, in alphabetical order: app development (project management); bartender; barista; branding (project management); car consignment; car sales (classics only, thank you very much); car restoration; carpentry (on my own houses); Dominoes pizza-cutter; drafting; insurance sales (yuck); marketing; motorcycle salesman; motorcycle test rider (allegedly); photographer… you get the picture. The running joke from one of my dear aunts is that I’ll figure out what I want to do when I grow up.
But while my career thus far has been as varied as the quality of a Bunnings sausage, it has certainly led to many interesting experiences, allowing me to meet people from every walk of life; all of which I draw on as inspiration, weaving into the pages of my stories.
Jobs aside, I live in a beautiful hidden pocket of NSW in a valley called Upper Orara, with my darling wife (and chief supporter of my madness), Belinda, and our two delightful children, Wilbur, and Holland. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me tinkering with an old classic car, or exploring some farfetched corner of New Zealand with my family (or if it’s summer, on the ride-on mower).
If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking the time to find out a little about me. I’m always keen for a yarn, so feel free to reach out and say g’day.
Happy reading,
Foster
